Phuket Patong Beach

What is a trip to Phuket.. A place with Beach Resorts and Spas without a photo at the Patong beach right?

Maybe I fail to see the "kinkiness" of the post?
Or perhaps... it's some kinky OL (Office Lady) thingy...
Or the alphabets SMU are initials for something?...

I wonder...
Let me know if you solve the mystery!

Phuket Bike Ride and Waterfall and my Love Bites! - Part 4

I know.. It's like dragging forever.. But I can only find time to upload a few pics and blog with it...
So here's part 4...

After I told my room mate I did not want to go for the normal shop, massage, relax by the pool or beach activities...
We decided to be more adventurous and rented a motorbike... (Read about my Bungy Jump experience at Gave away my FIRST time in Phuket)

Cost of renting a bike: $200baht (SGD$8.60) per 24 hours
Cost of petrol: $40baht (SGD$1.70) per alcohol bottle kind.. 1-2 bottles can last you abt 2days

As told to us by the locals, please note that if a traffic police is to stop you the following offences carry a fine.
No helmet: $300baht
No license on you: $500baht

Highly recommended form of transport if you can ride a motorbike or even just bicycle.
Some of the taxis or tuk-tuks(?) will try to charge $200baht for a single trip! It is pretty motorbike-friendly on the roads as motorbikes is a very common form of transport in Phuket. Many other tourists were seen riding as well. This is especially true if you move around the beach areas only. It gets scarier as you move further away from the beach areas as you start to share the road with lorries and buses. The scariest was when we rode all the way to Phuket Town. Many cars sharing the same space on narrow roads.

Locals are also SUPER friendly in helping to navigate. We had locals running up to us to offer help whenever we stopped to check the maps.... and no.. they weren't trying to sell anything!

Refueling before we set off

Started to rain shortly after we set off.. By the time we reached Patong Beach.. We were drenched..

The next day.. Made our way to Phuket's Kathu Waterfall
The other waterfalls seem much nicer and bigger.. But we chose Kathu waterfall as it was much nearer..

After what seems like ENDLESS stairs.. We finally found what we were looking for...

Although there were no shops at Kathu Waterfall Selling any Souvenirs.
We both managed to walk away with One-of-its-kind Souvenirs!!!

Phuket Dinner at Patong near Deevana Spa & Resort

Us on our way to dinner as a group...

We decided to go to a nearby place for dinner. Some of the managers ate at the place the night before and were impressed by the food and the price.
It was a short walk away from our Deevana Spa & Resort at Patong

The highlights included...

Yummy Oysters with Garlic

Lobster.. Where we had one each...

The price of the dinner? About SGD$20/$30 per pax
(Can't remember the exact figure as it was a treat from the managers)

Very value for money!

Deevana Patong Spa and Resort - Phuket + My Conversation of the Day..

The first sight that greeted me when I entered the room of Deevana Patong Spa and Resort?

The pool view.
I always like that.
You can read without changing into your swim/beach gear to go to the pool, you can people (*babe*) watch as well. It is just so much more relaxing than facing 4 walls.

The next thing that caught my sight? In the corner of my eye.. Something standing there...

Nice right?..

So shortly after taking photos.. My room mate called out to me from the toilet...

Andrew: Hey.. they only gave us 1 towel..
Me: Oh.. is it?.. They are still making up the room next door.. I'll go ask from the lady..

*Next Door*

Me: Excuse me... We only have 1 towel in our room.. Can you get me another one?

The lady.. in the typical ever so polite and Thai-accented English...

Lady: Sir.... Elephant.. Towel.. Sir...

Just for the moment.. I swear I could read her mind...

And the Elephant... Towel?....

Doesn't it look like it's laughing at me? haha....

Gave away my FIRST time in Phuket

Was in Phuket over the weekend...
An internal organisation incentive trip which I qualified for (thanks boss!)..
As my wife didn't join me for this trip...
I decided to let loose and do something NAUGHTY

My room mate (Andrew Ang) and me..
What can 2 guys in Phuket do with the wifey?
Something which I've always wanted to do but didn't have the guts...

!!!!!!BUNGY!!!!!!

It was a great thrill!!! Have always wanted to do it.. But have always put it off as I didn't want to spend the money..
Finally decided to do it... Nowadays, I feel experience cannot be measured in dollars and cents...
So if you are in Phuket, you may want to try it out...

The first plunge is the SCARIEST.. when you move off the edge.. no idea whether the cord works.. Did they secure it tight?... all sought of thoughts running through your mind...
But once there's the recoil... I actually enjoyed the experience and view...
Easily the scariest thing I have ever done.. Beat roller coasters (at least the ones I have taken) hands down...
Try it!!!

Height: 50metres
Cost: THB$2,500 (about SGD$109)
Includes 1 jump, insurance, CD of photos and a free T-shirt

Think it is well worth the money for the experience...
Should have done it when I was in Macau.. Macau towers is much higher (both height and price)...
If I do visit New Zealand and get the chance, I'll grab it to jump there.. the birth place of bungee!

Also.. thanks to Andrew.. who accompanied me to the place even though he didn't want to jump...
So who is this Andrew????

Happily After.. Or Hell Forever?

Of all the promotions and marketing materials I receive periodically to persuade me to spend more on my credit cards..
I've always been most impressed by those sent by the American Express Platinum Reserve card...
The quality of the materials and the promotions gives me the most temptations.. But luckily.. I usually just dump them into the bin...
Good luck to those who succumb to temptations...

A week or two back.. Received another from them...
Though it's too late for me... Or LUCKILY it's too late for me..

Happily Ever After Begins Here...

Then their marketing of Happiness is earning 10+10 Times Membership Rewards points at our Wedding Platinum Partners..
Followed by flyers of the different promotions and offers from Rings to Hotels to Gowns etc...

Is that how happiness is measured?

For anybody who has talked to me and asked for my advice on wedding dinners, wedding shoots etc..
My personal view is (and thankfully my wifey is with me on this)..
Keep things simple... DON'T get into debt!

But of course.. This is my personal view (perhaps being a Financial Consultant resulted in this?).. It's perfectly fine I think.. For some people if they can afford it to throw lavish celebrations.. Or even for those who are willing to spend $XXXX on their weddings..

Maybe I don't care so much about face.. Coz to me, after a while people forget who held weddings where... and no matter how much you spend on your wedding shoots or pre-shoots.. most married couples will tell you.. It hardly sees the light of day.. (ours is in the storeroom!)...

Happily ever after does not just come after the wedding.. It's the learning to accommodate each other that will be the key..

Don't let the Happily ever after.. turn into Hell forever.. If you sink too deep into debt and start your wedding on the wrong foot...

--Ginseng Tonic Maker-- Don't care too much about what others think of you.. They don't think of you that much anyway...
