Reflecting on 2010

Did you miss me while I was away?! Haha..
Was away for 5 days to Bangkok with Wifey and in-laws...
That explains why I haven't been blogging much lately...

Anyway.. decided to have an entry to take a look back at how 2010 went for me... one last entry before the year ends...
(check out my Top 15 Blog Posts in 2010)...

Though it feels soooooo long ago... The company incentive trip to Seoul, Korea was in Jan.. (Check my FB for more pics.. realized I didn't write much about the trip...)
Totally loved it with the great company of Wifey and colleagues/friends...
Also, it was the first time I've experienced snow... ("suaku" I know!)..
Perhaps we got more than we bargained for.. as it was the heaviest snowfall in like 70 (or 100?) years...

You may know that I visited Malaysia for a short-getaway to visit a friend who gave birth in Seremban, Malaysia.

Here is Part 2...
The main thing I can remember from my visit to Seremban?.... Great Food!
So the best thing to do if visiting Seremban, Malaysia is to EAT!....

Thanks to Michael... who brought us to eat the Char Siew Wanton Mee... or BBQ Pork Dumpling noodles...
We loved it!!!!

Let the pictures speak....

Visit to Seremban, Malaysia - Part 1

Visited a friend over the weekend in Seremban, Malaysia.
She gave birth back at her hometown and is doing her confinement there.
Took it as a short get-away holiday vacation as well to explore Seremban, Malaysia.

Check out the baby pics
Elysha - Congrats to Mummy Lu Ee and Michael!

This is the hotel that we stayed

Time Hotel - Seremban, Malaysia
A pretty decent place.
It looks clean with all the facilities working perfectly fine.
Don't expect much but it is only RM$90 a room a night.
That's about only SGD$19 per pax.

After checking in, we paid our friend a visit at her place.

A father's pride

The Importance of English

Remember the naggy English teacher in school who nagged at you to:

brush up on your English...

learn your grammar....

check your spelling...

and RE-CHECK your spelling...

As though it could destroy you life if you didn't do as told?...

THAT teacher may be right after all...
Carelessness in life unlike in exams.. can cost you more than a few marks...

One spelling mistake can destroy your life.

It has been a while since I've seen my nephew...
Any longer I think he'll forget my face already...

Feeling grouchy coz he just woke up

Didn't take long for him to warm up

He's squatting down coz I was squatting down trying to take pics of him

Words of Wisdom - What Life has Taught Me

"Be simple,
be caring
and be honest.

That's what a person is remembered for after death,
not how rich he was
and how much he had"

Xiaxue is Evil

Xiaxue is Evil...
I'm not even talking about her spats with other bloggers or any other person who has crossed her... (yes, I do read her blog from time to time)
I'm talking about something even more personal!
If you have wife/girlfriend/partner reading her blog.. be careful!
You know.. like how the devil holds sway over some people?...

Why do I say that?

Some time last week...
Out of the blue....
Wifey dropped me a SMS which read:

"Baby... I need to talk to you tonight!"

Thoughts that came to my mind?

What is worse than having a husband leave a wife for another woman?

The husband leaving the wife for another MAN!!!!

Probably asking herself....

Pirated CD Peddlers making a comeback?

Recently I had an evening appointment near my place at Bukit Panjang Plaza..
As I was walking to the coffee place to meet my client...
I walked past the "square".. the big open place where they usually have sales or events...

As I was walking passed the area... something caught my eye...
There was this sad-looking booth...
With a table.. and CDs on them...
Like how in the past in some corners you will see a guy peddling pirated CDs with a look-out nearby...

My first thought was... "Pirated CDs in a shopping center?!... are pirated CD peddlers making a comeback?"

Of course I don't think they were really selling pirated CDs..
As I was rushing for my appointment.. I couldn't check them out and satisfy my curiosity.. I thought.. maybe after my appointment...

Then the next thought that came to my mind...

Importance of Medical Insurance!

One reason that people give for holding off the purchase of private Shield plans is the belief that they are adequately covered by their employers.

That is a very short-sighted view unless the insurance is portable, said financial experts.

> Medical Plan can be paid through CPF?
>What is deductibles?
> What is co-insurance?
> If my company provides me with insurance, is that enough?

For answers to these questions and more...

The Lie about Lifelong Learning?

A speech that tells you that it is a big lie that "Learning is a lifelong process"... and goes on to give you an insight...

"You know the sort of people who tell you that? Teachers. Don’t you think there is some measure of conflict of interest? They are in the business of learning, after all. Where would they be without you? They need you to be repeat customers."

In the speech.. Marriage was also mentioned...

"Marriage is considered one milestone of life. Some of you may already be married. Some of you may never be married. Some of you will be married. Some of you will enjoy the experience so much, you will be married many, many times. Good for you."

A great speech full of interesting and funny insights...
More importantly..
It gives you great advice on choosing a career and living your life...

Old School Delights @ Upper Thomson

Ended up at Old School Delights (OSD) with Wifey when the initial plan was to go to Triple 3. Because your friend here forgot to check his expiry date of the discount Eat@Meritus card (which came with the OCBC Titanium card) which has a one-for-one offer for Triple 3.

It was really expired! (unlike my "expired gym membership")

So after trying to find another place to go to... We finally decided on Old School Delights- It's recess time! located at Upper Thomson.. So here is the "review"...

We first read about OSD in some magazine previously and just didn't get down to visiting.. So finally.. we were there! And I probably enjoyed it more than if I were at Triple 3.. (though Wifey may disagree haha...)
