Goal Setting...

Was talking to a buddy of mine recently..
The conversation went something like this...

Buddy: I'm hoping my assingments this year will get me $40,000.
Me: Why $40,000? Go for $100,000!

My rationale:
If you choose not to be like everybody else with an office job..
Then you better aim for a income that is not like everybody else with an office job..
Why go through all the stress and emotional roller-coaster of being being your own boss when you are going for a income like $40,000?
Might as well just find a comfortable job that pays you that amount with probably less stress..
And aiming for $100,000, even if you don't hit, you'd still get $80,000-$90,000.
Not that bad a deal...

Note:
I'm not saying employees have less stress...
It's just different kind of stress...
I'm not saying employees aren't earning $100,000 or higher income at this age..
I know of people who do!
One is NOT better/superior than the other..
I'm just referring to the different mindset.. different strategy.. different goal in this game of money..

Actually depends also.. coz some pple become self-employed so they can have work-life balance.. or want to be stay-at-home mums/dads..
But everything also no right or wrong one lor..

Well.. 55-90K.. or any amount for that matter.. good or bad depends on expectations.. Some pple juz have other priorities than income..
Also depend on age.. One income that's good for a age group.. may not be so impressive if in another age group..
