Conversation of the Day - One word can change the whole meaning...

I signed up for California Fitness gym membership about 3 years back as there was some promotion package then..
To force myself to exercise and keep fit...
It has worked.. to a certain extent.. (I hope)
Maybe I pile on weight slower than if I had not sign up...
And because I PAID for a membership...
It is in my blood to USE it to extract value for it! haha...

Anyway.. I was there recently as I decided to start doing some light exercises since my back strain has gotten better ...

As I was waiting for my card to be scanned at the gym..
the customer service rep (CSR) gave me a shock...

Conversation of the Day

CSR: Sir.. your membership has expired!

Me: Oh.. is it?! EXPIRED?!

-Thinking that I might have made a wasted trip.. Feeling totally silly and stupid for coming by when the membership has expired... I extended my hand to take back my card-

Me: Oh my.. expired?!... (wanting to check the date on my card)

CSR:

Ya....

Expired...

Next year Jan...

So Sir, you want to look at what package we have now?...

Me: Oh... EXPIRING(!!!!) next Jan... Let me think about it...

My English isn't fantastic.. I'm the first one to admit..
And I'm not making fun of the person...
I didn't laugh or correct him...
but it's just a reminder to all of us the importance of communication and not letting our language skills slide after we leave school...

--Ginseng Tonic Maker-- I was VERY polite okie...
